Hospital Contract Termination
Hospital Group: Genea Hospital Group
RBHS are a not-for-profit health fund, and we exist solely for our members. We have agreements in place with over 530 hospitals across Australia, and continually work to ensure we maintain affordability and access to quality healthcare for our members.
Despite our best efforts, we have been unable to reach an agreement with Genea Hospital Group, a private healthcare provider with 4 hospitals across ACT and NSW, on a contract that we believe contains fair charges that avoid pressure on your RBHS premium payments.
As a result, Genea Hospital Group has taken the decision to terminate our agreement effective from 13th December 2024.
While we are disappointed with this outcome, and despite the pending termination, we remain hopeful and will continue our attempts to renegotiate a new agreement with Genea Hospital Group. RBHS will notify members of any changes to this situation.
What does this mean for RBHS members?
From the date of termination, members will still be able to access Genea Hospital Group and RBHS will continue to pay a benefit. However, in the absence of an agreement, Genea Hospital Group may choose to charge you out-of-pocket costs.
The impacted hospitals are:
• Genea Canberra
• Genea Day Surgery
• Genea Liverpool
• Genea Northwest
If you require treatment at these hospitals, we strongly encourage you to contact us on 1800 027 299 and we can discuss your options.
